Been there, though I consider a Tandem Kayak a bigger divorce machine. I would reccomend canoeing before the wedding.
I fondly remember the first full day trip my now-wife and I took. It take a while to figure each other out, but once you both “get it” things go much more smoothly. Years later we can paddle no problem, though prefer our solo canoes so we can actually talk to each other.
